Hiroshima Setouchi Nomad Fest (HSNF) is Japan's most nomad-friendly long-stay gathering — designed by nomads, for nomads. The 2026 edition runs October 11 – November 1, unfolding across two cities: Hiroshima for the main weeks of urban life and connection, then a ferry ride to Matsuyama for the Setouchi retreat on Shikoku island. The theme is "Yohaku" (余白) — the Japanese word for blank space or margin: time to pause, reflect and grow; space to connect with others; room to slow down and enjoy simple moments. The format invites participants to experience Hiroshima not as tourists but as temporary residents: work on weekdays, and join welcome gatherings, community dinners, cultural experiences with local residents, skill-sharing sessions in Japanese and English, and weekend outdoor trips around the Setouchi Inland Sea. Week one and two are based in Hiroshima City (urban convenience, abundant nature, warm people), exploring the region's rich nature on weekends; the final week shifts to Matsuyama — hot springs, one of Japan's original castles, and literary culture in a nostalgic town. HSNF suits digital nomads who want a designed Japanese lifestyle experience — three weeks of depth, local connection and autumn foliage in one of the country's best seasons — rather than a fly-in conference.
