An exceptional coliving & coworking experience in Normandy I’ve been lucky enough to spend time at Château Coliving, and it’s honestly one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve ever had. The château itself is beautiful — thoughtfully restored, elegantly decorated, and surrounded by peaceful Normandy countryside. The rooms are bright, comfortable, and full of character, with everything you need to feel at home. But what makes this place extraordinary is the community. It’s a genuine family of kind, creative, and interesting people from all over the world. We shared dinners, afternoon teas, game nights (“Among Us” nights here are legendary), art sessions, skill shares, and hikes through the nearby countryside and along the coastline. The hosts also organize amazing day trips — to places like Bayeux, Étretat, Mont-Saint-Michel, Granville, and Dieppe — that make you fall even more in love with Normandy. If you’re looking for a place where you can focus, create, and feel instantly welcome, this is it. Château Coliving provides the perfect environment for productivity, friendship, and inspiration. I spent a month living in the chateau, and what a magical month! Almost every review will probably say that, and there's a reason. I met the most amazing people, ate delicious food, lived like a king, and learned a lot of history. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend anybody considering staying here to do it.
I had a truly incredible month at Chateau Coliving in August 2025. I looked forward to it for months and really built it up in my imagination, so was a little worried it wouldn’t live up to expectations but in fact it exceeded them. The chateau itself is spacious but not huge - kind of perfect, small enough to feel cozy and familiar but big enough to be able to get space to yourself. One big concern was the kitchen - with 22 colivers I thought it would get slammed at meal times, but this rarely happened because people were on such different schedules. And I loved bumping into one or two friends when I wandered into the kitchen. Very easy and comfortable. The best thing about this experience is the thoughtful community management. The team did an amazing job at welcoming us and helping our group to gel authentically and quickly. By the end of the first week, we were all close and connected, which is remarkable. The facilities are a little worn and rustic, which was what I expected, but worth flagging if you’re expecting a five star resort experience! This is a homey place, which means lived-in furniture (many of which are antiques with tons of charm and character!) And I LOVED my room with shared bath. Felt super special. Altogether a really great experience; I’ll be back!

My company enjoyed a spectacular week here. My suite was glorious, with giant windows overlooking immaculate grounds, and a huge clawfoot tub. The work spaces were well equipped -- place of power, tables, and monitors for rent -- and the kitchen large enough for us to cook together. We even had a bonfire one night. A great place for a team retreat!
One word: MAGICAL! It’s hard to describe how special this place and the incredible team who run it are, and how dear the chateau is in my heart. Want to live like an aristocrat in a breathtaking historical castle on sprawling green grounds in the heart of Normandy, where you can daily stuff yourself with the finest (yet affordable!) cheeses and wine? Want a dedicated, hardworking team who truly cares about you running the place, who understand what it means to foster community on the daily? This place will deliver in spades. They take of everything, you just have to show up—from weekly group dinners and daily activities galore, to weekend outings exploring adorable medieval towns and rugged coastline, to excellent an coworking where I could get everything done that I needed to. I’ve visited twice now and would go back in a heartbeat. I’ve met people who will be lifelong friends and learned so much about myself here. Plus, if you’re a history lover, especially ww2, this property and the surrounding area is like a history tour come to life! I just love the chateau!

It's hard to explain how special and magical the Chateau is. I've done several colivings - and always have more that I plan to do -but this one just takes the cake and I fear nothing will top it! If you're the type of person who wants to co-create a community, who wants to connect deeply with others, wants to slow down and experience something different than most folks will ever see in France, appreciates history, loves nature, and yes - are eager to wash your dishes and even the dishes of others - then the Chateau could be just the thing for you. Waking up in a centuries old castle, surrounded by an open-minded and loving community, heading down to the kitchen for your 15th cup of coffee, cozying up by the fire, eating your 45th wheel of brie ... this could all be available to you! Some of the many things that make the chateau amazing are: - INCREDIBLE community managers. Seriously, my stay would not have been the same without the truly remarkable Sarah, Alejandra, and Kevin. They infuse the magic and love into every day and I'm so grateful for them. - A shared starting date - everyone arrives on the same page, ready to create something beautiful together - Blazing fast Wifi in the coworking space - Thursday night community dinners - Sunday morning crepes!! - Teams to share the work of keeping the community spinning together - Great Slack communications and easy onboarding - Living in a place steeped in history, ancient and modern - A big TV to gather round for shared shows and movies - Twice weekly grocery pickup - Grounds that just shimmer with magic somehow (maybe it's the fog?!) I spent about 6 weeks at the Chateau and I could not have been more grateful for them. If you have the opportunity and want to create something unique and beautiful with others, I could not recommend it more. ❤️🏰✨

Terrible coworking experience. First of all, the house is extremely run down. It's drafty. My shower the first night didn't drain properly (and they knew it when they gave me the room). Internet not consistent, especially in the rooms. Not safe. There are no locks on the doors for any of the rooms by the way - I learned when a random guy "accidentally" walked into my room one night at 2AM. When I suggested that the staff add locks, they told me they deliberately removed the locks and I'd have to ask them why. When I never did - because I think any place where you are living with random strangers you should have locks - they thought I was overly hostile and too demanding of a place to stay. Your decision whether it's worthwhile to stay in a place with strangers without locks, anon. Also, there are rats. I found out when they took and then returned my gummies with tooth marks in them. This chateau was the local Nazi headquarters for the area in WWII. They left a swastika downstairs that has not been painted over (though there is a painting hung over it). Your decision about what that means, dear reader.
We were not allowed to walk the grounds without booking a stay (update: one entry was open without any signs, nothing on google maps indicates this to be more private than other castles. As a warning to others dropping by castles based on google maps, a review of 1 star is in order)
This is a truly wonderful place to stay – a stunning castle with beautiful rooms and dreamy shared spaces, but most importantly a real sense of community and friendship. My time there included hikes, bike rides, communal feasts, yoga, and even a murder mystery, while still managing to get my work done! This was my first coliving experience and I loved it. I'll definitely be trying more – including a return to the chateau before too long!

This is such an amazing place! From the historical building, to the scenic surroundings, and the awesome community, I thoroughly enjoyed my 6-weeks stay. Among all of the highlights, the most memorable was the sense of belonging. Staying in the Château was like spending holidays with good friends and was as far from a traditional hotel experience as I could dream of. Katia and Emmanuel are wonderful people. I feel like they understand the nomad lifestyle and needs better than anyone. I think they should run a school for other hosts starting their own colivings

It is hard to describe how magical this place is. It's a castle, to start with. But it's so much more than that. It's a community like no other.
The Chateau is magical! I’ve been a working and traveling for over 2 years now and I’ve had the chance to visit a lot of colivings. Chateau is probably the most special place I’ve been too. The area around is superb and it’s very easy to plan some nice day trips as well. I found myself very inspired there as the work flowed easily. thanks for hosting me and I will definitely be back as soon as possible 🥰
We had an unforgettable time at this co-living/co-working Castle. Katia is so sweet and accommodating. We are a family with kids and stayed in the Manor apartment. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We stayed for a month. The Manor/Castle was so homey, it felt like we were just staying at Kaita's home. We felt so honored to stay in a place with such a rich history. We are thankful that Katia and her husband have opened up their family home for others to enjoy.
We have been at the Chateau with a large group of travelers and it's been a fantastic location, staff are so helpful and engaged. It's picture perfect in all ways!
This was an amazing coworking and coliving experience! I cannot recommend enough, and will be back! It's very well managed - the management team and community managers are definitely experienced and know what they're doing. And the diversity and quality of people that we got to meet there were top notch, my partner was even able to work long-term with 2 people on specific projects from our time there!

Geweldige nostalgische locatie. Heerlijk rustig met groen omgeven. Niet voor kinderen. Wel voor natuurgenieters. Goede kamers, prima badkamer met ligbad. Goed uitgeruste keuken.
A beautiful space, facilitated by wonderful hosts. We stayed here for our first coliving experience and if other spaces are anything like this, I don't know why we would ever stop. I can't draw any comparisons to other colivings, but I know that we felt welcomed and integrated from our first day here. It's in a rural location, so if you're looking for somewhere where you can stroll down the street to get a coffee and people-watch, this won't be right for you. There's plenty of interesting stuff nearby, but you'll need to have a car -- or ask the chateau team to arrange a trip to use one of the on-site cars. The rural situation, though, lends itself to a strong sense of community and connection. People spend a lot of time together (without it feeling cliquey), but there is so much room for everybody to have their own space that if you want to have a quiet day to yourself, it's easy. Couldn't recommend it more. :)

🏰 Das Château ist ein authentisches Schloss aus dem 12. Jahrhundert im Herzen der Normandie, das sehr visionär in einen Coliving & Coworking Space verwandelt wurde. Es ist einzigartiger Ort, der mir für immer in Erinnerung bleiben wird. 💥 Es gibt überall schnelles WiFi, einen Riesengarten mit Palmen, Hängematten und Grillstelle, 1 Coworking Space, 13 Zimmer und 2 Apartments. Wir waren als Familie in einem der Apartments im Herrenhaus aus dem 17. Jahrhundert untergebracht, das sehr geräumig war. ❣️ Direkt bei der Ankunft wurden wir unglaublich freundlich begrüßt und haben gleich eine Tour in und um das Schloss bekommen. Sofort ins Auge fallen die Storchennester auf dem Dach, mit den Störchen, die umherfliegen und wunderschön anzusehen sind. 🌿 Das Château umgibt ganz viel Wald und grüne Wiesen, man spürt sofort eine Ruhe und gleichzeitig den aristokratischen Hauch dieser Anlage. 👪 Jede Woche wird gemeinsam mit den anderen Colivern geplant. Die Coliver sind insgesamt ein junges, dynamisches Publikum aus allen möglichen Ländern (USA, Brasilien, Frankreich, Deutschland, Polen, Italien, England etc.) 💘 Wir hatten eine unglaublich schöne Woche und ich kann einen Aufenthalt im Château von ganzem Herzen weiterempfehlen!
Everything has been perfect. This is one of the best places I ever stayed and I wish I could stay longer. I’ve already booked a return trip. Everyone is amazing, the rooms are big and beautiful, and honestly, it’s just the best all around. It’s been the most enormous privilege. A big thank you to the owners and the team. What a dream.
Château Coliving will forever have a special place in my heart and I consider it my European home. The grounds are beautiful, the buildings are stunning but the truly magical part about this place is it’s ability to turn strangers into family. I had an amazing experience there, extended my stay multiple times and am already planning another visit. This place has everything you could want and more - great coworking space - stunning rooms - cozy fireplace - quiet nooks to work or nap - lush grounds to explore - big kitchen that is perfect for family dinners and Sunday morning crepes - fun activities and games in the château - local experiences (highly recommend Juno Beach) - endless laughs and good times Come for the castle-Stay for the community.

I had an absolutely incredible stay this month at the chateau. I leave today feeling like I’m leaving family. The hosts were really wonderful, the room I stayed in (Burgas) is out of a dream and the chateau and the grounds make you feel like you’re living out of time (but with wifi in every room). I’m already thinking about my return trip later this year.
At some point it was so cool to live and work from a place like Chateau coliving that I started feeling bad for my friends and colleagues and stopped mentioning it lol. The place is awesome, rooms are big, beautiful, with a lot of light (even in Normandy). The cowork space is huge. There are many fun activities to do with an excellent community: - real life among us? Yeah! - board games - workshops - community dinners, including excellent ultra-fresh seafood - playing some videogames together - movies - many visits to beautiful villages and spots in the area - all kinds of conversations! - and many other things I was in November and at the time of departure I was already booking for February and March. My recommendation: come at least for a month :) (I shouldn't actually post this, they are already getting fully booked after being opened for less than a year and it will be more difficult to book a room in the future. Please forget everything I said, don't come, stay home)

If you are a digital nomad looking to build lifelong friendships with others and live real and genuine experiences with beautiful humans, this is the PERFECT place for you. We stayed at the chateau for a week, and our only regret was not staying longer! It was such an incredible and welcoming environment with amazing events organized by Jorge and Gabe to make everyone feel at home. The next time we go, 3-4 weeks will definitely be our minimum for the stay! <3

Our stay at Chateau de L’Isle Marie was delightful! Living in a castle for two weeks was the highlight of our entire trip to France. Located in a Natural Park Normandy, the chateau is close to D-day beaches, many cute towns, and a short road trip to Mont St Michel. Our bedroom and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The common areas were very spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed spending time and joining in on fun activities with the other guests. We work remotely and the office space had very good WiFi, and comfortable desks and chairs. Jorge and Gabe did an AMAZING job managing the chateau and creating a wonderful atmosphere and community among the co-livers. They were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend this place to any digital nomad!

We spent 2 days at Château De L’Isle as we explored Normandy. This was absolutely the highlight of our trip. The castle and surrounding buildings are incredible! Each morning as I opened our beautiful windows I was stunned by the beauty and peacefulness of the property. Absolutely beautiful!

Een heel leuk verblijf in een historisch kasteel · Een zeer mooie locatie midden in de natuur. Wij werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door de eigenaar, de managers waren op reis. Het kasteel op zich kan inderdaad wat onderhoudswerken gebruiken. De kamers zijn zeer ruim en mooi ingericht en uitgerust met goede bedden. Men heeft goed geluisterd naar de beoordelingen want over het ontbijt hebben wij zeker geen klachten, alles was er ruim voldoende van hartig tot zoet.

Absolutely one of the finest places to stay in the Normandy region. Classic 12th Century Chateau continually upgraded through the years, amazing local history, management, and the breakfast is very nice before heading out for a day of exploration. This location is very reasonably priced and within easy driving distance of everything you could possibly want to see in the area. We had a fantastic time visiting with the gentleman who was taking care of the place and discussing local history. This is certainly not one to miss!

Great, gorgeous, lovely chateau! Perfect for a weekend getaway, romantic escape or a family holiday. Lovely grounds, like your own private park. Horses over the fence, cows in the distance and deer wandering right up to the chateau. Couldn't ask for more welcoming & gracious hosts, there's a total feeling of peace and quiet here. Go! Enjoy!

Gorgeous château with great history. From the vikings to the Romans to WWII. The owner and manager are super friendly. The accommodations are magnificent and they also have a great breakfast. If you are visiting the area I would recommend you stay here.

We stayed for 4 nights in a recent trip to Normandy and were delighted with the accommodations. Gillaume the manager is very helpful and a friendly expert on local attractions. Breakfast was typical French continental every day and the location was peaceful and historic from 12 century origins to descriptions of parachutist landings nearby in 1944. Would definitely stay there again.

A truly unique experience in the beautiful Normandy countryside. The Chateau de L'Isle Marie has been in the owner's family for over 600 years and has only been open to guests for the past several years. We only stayed one night and wished we had stayed two. There was much more we wanted to see within a short distance. The chateau is surrounded by lush fields that are flooded during the winter which creates the "island" around the property. The entire area is a protected natural preserve. Staying here is so much different from a typical hotel. Nights are quiet. No TV, no phones. In the evening, you sip wine, play cards or relax with a book before bed. Breakfast was well laid-out and plentiful. For history buffs, the chateau was a key German artillery strongpoint during the fight for control of the bridge at Chef du Pont nearby during the D-Day landings. Several building were heavily damaged or destroyed by U.S. artillery during the battle. Ask to see the GIs names written on the basement walls.

Rooms are big! Very nice hostapitality. Host speaks very good English. Best of all, they have the most funny dog I have ever seen, so cute and circle you around just to get you to play with him. Love this castle hotel!

Sejour week end , pour les non frileux . 7 degres extérieur quasi idem dans la chambre . Pas de chauffage ni de solution d'appoint. Petit dej copieux , patrons sympathiques et accueillants
This chateau is amazing. The building, the history, and especially the people make it absolutely fantastic. We regularly travel to Normandy, and we will always stay here. It is romantic and elegant, but at the same time, welcoming to our family of five (3 boys). I cannot say enough good things about this Chateau.
